When “Goodnight Moon” doesn’t cut it… “Go the F@#k to Sleep” book

Nice find, by new mom @rockstarjen on moms.today.com.

“The cats nestle close to their kittens.
The lambs have laid down with the sheep.
You’re cozy and warm in your bed, my dear
Please go the f@#k to sleep.”

200-mile running relay with 11 strangers

The Ragnar Relay running series is something I’ve wanted to do ever since a friend told me about it a year ago. You basically get 11 friends together and cover a 200-mile or so distance in 24+ hours. The mileage varies (mine will be 3 legs of about 5-6 miles — though some lucky teammates have 10+ mile/leg).

Tomorrow (Friday) at 6:30 a.m., our team dubbed “DNR” will kick things off for the SoCal Ragnar, starting from Huntington Beach and ending on San Diego’s Coronado Island.

I’ve actually never met any of the 11 people on my team… about 3 weeks ago, I decided to check out the Facebook page of the event and inquire if anyone needed an extra teammate. I linked up with a team and helped get a couple of additional San Diego gals… there will be 7 of us ladies in one van and 5 guys in another. I am excited but also a little worried that I haven’t done a lot of training beforehand. Either way, I’ve already decided this will be a fun adventure to remember!

If you want to follow our progress from Friday thru Saturday, I’ll be tweeting from my @babyblooze Twitter account and using the hashtag #ragnarsocal.

Testing a virtual chumby widget

A friend at the office gave me his Chumby and I’m playing around with the “virtual” Chumby widgets you can use even if you don’t own the hardware. The silly clapping video is soon replaced with penguin cam from SeaWorld. If you wait around, you’ll then get an interactive virtual zen garden.

When I get the hardware up and running, I’m keen on using the Pandora music player widget. There are a handful of other widgets that look good too.
